Throwback Thursday: Quick Look at Lamy 2000 + Private Reserve Ebony Purple

Here's another one that came from the Goulet Ink Drop days. I almost passed on it since the handwritten review was very short. But, the review was so positive that I decided to go with it. I'll point out now that in the hand-written review I wrote that the ink was from De Atramentis. However, De Atramentis does not make "Ebony Purple". And I cross-referenced to other pen/ink tests done in the same time frame, they said "Private Reserve". And finally, I crossed referenced with Goulet Pens.

Handwritten Review
Pen: Lamy 2000 EF
Ink: Private Reserve [Note the handrwritten post erroneously says De Atramentis] Ebony Purple
Paper: Rhodia No. 16 Grid

(Heart)(Heart)(Heart) this combo. Deep deep purple almost black. Has great suble character. Sublime in Lamy 2000 EF. Lamy 2000 EF nib is smooth. This ink is smooth. Perfect. Shading is subtle due to darkness of the ink. Very well behaved on Rhodia.

Closing Comments
I've inked up the Lamy 2K with many inks over the past few years. I prefer to ink it with dark but, not black, inks. This one really fits the bill and may be my favourite combination. It makes me wonder why I don't have a bottle of Private Reserve Ebony Purple. The good thing about doing these Throwback Thursday's match ups is that it's giving me a chance for a second look at inks I haven't seen in a long while.
